There's still that elusive "Buttercup's Baby" sequel that has been promised by W Goldman for sometime now. I'm sure some studio probably already has the rights to it, just waiting (even if it will never be finished). Shudder. I heard that all movies get contracted for a trilogy, even if they're only intending to make one. Not sure how much truth there is in that, but it explains a lot.
