Can you spell cacophony?

My 12 year old son and his friend spent much of last weekend mixing and matching all his lego minifigs to make his own Dr Who Lego.

Given that there was nothing manufactured specifically for what they were trying to make, I think they did a great job.

I’ve never been that interested in branded Lego, but if they ever did a merchandising deal with the Beeb over this, they would have a large amount of my money. And plenty of my childrens’ too.

Please excuse the poor photography. I rushed a bit, perhaps I can upload some new versions later.

I was doing an image search for a diabetes handout at work the other day when I came across this beauty.

The photographer has quite cleverly knitted a pancreas-shaped pouch to carry all of her diabetes paraphernalia around in. Clever because:

1. Anyone who can knit is clever in my book
2. The bits and pieces all together perform the function that the pancreas should be doing in the first place.
3. It also shows a particularly good sense of humour. Like one commenter said: “You just have to use humour in life sometimes, don’t you??”

After a five month wait, family and friends will be pleased to know that I have [finally][6] [added][1] [some][2] [more][3] [photos][5] to [my flickr account][7], including some of the [school trip to Canberra][4]. Enjoy.

Last time my parents were down in Esperance, we were looking at some old school photos of mine and I came across these old photos from their courting days.

I must have borrowed them with the intention of getting copies made, so while I thought of it I scanned them and gave the originals back.

Enjoy this view of what teenagers looked like back in the sixties!
