(This is a now page, and if you have your own site, you should make one, too.)
I'm off the locum market and back into full time work. I started working at a new pharmacy in Yanchep late last year. As much as I enjoyed the variety of locum work, a bit of predictability is not a bad thing...
Time marches on... Our household now is all 18+ and now resembles a Uni students' share house (though a little better managed).
Earlier this year I became an Esperanto teacher. I got through about 8 weeks of a 10 week course before the 2020-event-that-shall-not-be-named struck and we could no longer meet. Haven't yet got my A into G to run something online, maybe that can be a New Year's resolution?
Have been enjoying getting into some new music via Mastodon and a small group we like the call the Monthly Music Book Club. Each month, we select a newish album to listen to (making use of Bandcamp Friday when we can), spend the month listening to it and then get together at the end of the month in an XMPP chatroom to discuss. It's great fun and I love how it means we're focusing more on whole albums rather than individual tracks which has become the norm recently.
Currently reading Speaking our language, a fascinating book about the history of Australian English (which has been collecting dust on my bookshelf since almost the day it was published). I'm also working my way through audiobooks of The Dresden Files before I finally get a chance to read the two latest novels (released this year without my knowledge!)
While the URL shayne.powerlot.net/now will always point to the latest version of "NOW", I intend to keep all former versions up on my page. Here's the whole collection if you are interested in what happened before "NOW": Shayne Power: What I'm Doing Now | Old Now Page 2 | Old Now Page 1 |
